Offshore wind installation specialist Cadeler has secured a firm contract with Synera Renewable Energy to transport and install turbines at the Formosa 4 Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan. The agreement covers the deployment of 35 Siemens Gamesa 14 MW units, with operations scheduled to begin in March 2028 and lasting around 150 days.
The deal is estimated to be worth €70–80 million and represents a key step in Cadeler’s expansion across the Asia-Pacific offshore wind sector. Once completed, Formosa 4 will deliver up to 495 MW of renewable power from a site spanning roughly 58 km², located about 18–20 kilometers off Miaoli County in waters up to 64 meters deep.
The new commitment follows a reservation agreement announced last year that secured two projects in the region, with discussions on the second project still underway. Cadeler’s Taipei office will play a central role in supporting the work and reinforcing the company’s local presence.
According to CEO Mikkel Gleerup, the contract strengthens Cadeler’s foothold in Asia-Pacific and highlights the company’s next-generation M-class vessels as critical tools “anchoring Cadeler’s strategic presence in the region” and advancing offshore wind infrastructure for a low-carbon future.
