Subsea7 Wins $750M–$1.25B EPCI Contract for Sakarya Gas Field Phase 3 in Türkiye

Subsea7 secures a major EPCI deal from TP-OTC for Türkiye’s Sakarya gas field Phase 3, covering SURF design, procurement, and offshore installation.

Subsea7 announced on August 27, 2025, that it has been awarded a major engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract by Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center (TP-OTC) for Phase 3 of the Sakarya gas field development in the Black Sea. The award falls into the company’s “major” category, which Subsea7 defines as contracts valued between $750 million and $1.25 billion.

The project scope covers the design, procurement, construction, and installation of subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF). Subsea7 has already commenced project management and engineering activities, with its Istanbul office leading coordination efforts.

David Bertin, Executive Vice President of Subsea7’s Global Project Centre – East, said the contract strengthens the company’s presence in Türkiye while deepening its collaboration with TP-OTC. Hulya Ozgur, Managing Director for Subsea7 Türkiye, added that the project highlights the firm’s commitment to leveraging local expertise and delivering safe, reliable solutions.

The Sakarya development is Türkiye’s flagship offshore energy project, designed to reduce the country’s reliance on imported gas. Subsea7’s involvement in Phase 3 follows its earlier participation in previous development stages, further consolidating its role as a key subsea contractor in the region.
