Berard Transportation, a U.S.-based heavy transport specialist, has successfully completed the loading and transport of a 2,160-ton barge for a long-term client in South Louisiana, marking another major milestone in the company’s portfolio of large-scale marine logistics projects.
According to the company, the operation involved lifting the 300-foot-long and 100-foot-wide barge from its fabrication supports before transporting it to the client’s dry dock facility. The move required 72 axle lines of self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) powered by four power packs, along with two spacers, barge ramps, and winch trucks to ensure precise handling.
