Seoul/Rio de Janeiro — Aug 12, 2025. Hanwha Ocean is advancing plans to set up a shipyard in Niterói to support Brazil offshore bids, following disclosure at a FIRJAN supplier-networking event.
The deal is in late negotiations, with site works, hiring and partner agreements targeted within 30–45 days. The company has participated in Petrobras’s 2024 P-86 FPSO tender, previously won P-79 with Saipem in 2021, and acquired Dyna-Mac in Nov 2024 (rebranded Hanwha Offshore Singapore in early 2025). Brazil in May 2025 approved R$22bn for 26 shipyard/port projects.
