Petrobras Cancels P-86 FPSO Tender Over Economic Feasibility Concerns

Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petrobras has withdrawn the tender process for the P-86 floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO), which was intended for the revitalization of the Marlim Sul and Marlim Leste fields. The company cited “unforeseen economic factors” that made the project uncompetitive under all evaluated scenarios. Staff assigned to the project will be redeployed to other initiatives, while plans to extend production in the Campos Basin using FPSOs and subsea systems remain in place. (Splash247)
