COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers (600428.SH) has released its financial results for the first half of 2025, showing significant revenue and profit growth despite challenging market conditions.

The company reported revenue of RMB 10.78 billion, a 44% increase year-on-year. Net profit attributable to shareholders reached RMB 825 million, up 13% compared with the same period in 2024. Adjusted net profit rose to RMB 835 million, an increase of more than 52%. According to the company, operating cash flow nearly doubled, reflecting improved earnings quality.

Fleet expansion remained a strategic focus. By mid-2025, COSCO Shipping Specialized had taken delivery of a number of new vessels, with industry sources noting that the company aims to add up to 52 ships by year-end, including multipurpose and heavy-lift carriers under long-term charter agreements.

In addition, the carrier recently secured a 16-year charter deal for six heavy-lift vessels valued at approximately USD 310 million, strengthening its capacity in project cargo and specialized transport.

While the global specialized shipping market faces increasing competition, COSCO Shipping Specialized stated that it will continue to expand and optimize its fleet as part of its long-term growth strategy under China’s 14th Five-Year Plan.
