Mighty Servant 1 Departs Odense with Four XXL TP-less Monopiles

At Lindø, four 120-meter, 2,300-tonne TP-less XXL monopiles were loaded onto Mighty Servant 1 and sailed from Odense Fjord with tug and pilot assistance, marking another step in offshore wind logistics.

A major offshore wind transport milestone was completed last week at Lindø, Denmark, where four TP-less XXL monopiles were loaded onto the heavy transport vessel Mighty Servant 1. Each structure is about 120 meters long and weighs close to 2,300 tonnes, ranking among the largest monopiles ever moved from the facility.

The operation took place at Odense Port and required precise coordination due to the vessel’s draft and dimensions. After loading, the vessel departed in the early morning, navigating through the narrow Odense Fjord channel, locally known as “Gabet.” Two tugboats and an onboard pilot provided support to guide the ship through the winding passage and past the Enebærodde lighthouse.

The successful departure highlights the growing scale of offshore wind components and the logistical expertise needed to transport them safely from European fabrication hubs to future project sites.
