DNV signs two-year deal with Kolon Global to provide owner’s engineering for the 400MW Wando Jangbogo offshore wind project in South Korea.
DNV has signed a two-year agreement with Kolon Global Corporation to provide owner’s engineering services for the 400MW Wando Jangbogo Offshore Wind Project in South Korea. The project, valued at KRW 2.6 trillion, is one of the country’s largest offshore wind initiatives.
Developed with Korea Western Power and Jeonnam Development Corporation, the project combines public and private participation. Kolon plans to adopt a community-participation model to secure local support and long-term benefits.
DNV’s scope includes turbine selection, project management, tender preparation, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation. The company aims to enhance technical quality and reduce project risks from the outset.
DNV’s regional leaders described the project as a landmark for Korea’s renewable energy goals, while Kolon emphasized the value of combining international expertise with Korea’s regulatory understanding. Completion is expected before 2030, reinforcing South Korea’s commitment to large-scale clean energy deployment.
