BigLift Shipping’s heavy-lift vessel Happy Sky has carried seven retired Gepard-class missile speedboats from Kiel to Aliaga, Turkey, marking their final voyage. Commissioned in the 1980s and withdrawn in 2015–16, the boats each measure 58 meters in length and weigh about 330 tonnes. Two were loaded into the hold and five on deck, requiring customized lifting beams, chain securing systems, and reinforced dunnage. The shipment arrived September 1, 2025, closing the operational chapter of these historic German Navy vessels.
