Seaway7—a specialized subsidiary under the Subsea7 umbrella—has secured a substantial contract from Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) to oversee the transportation and installation of inter-array cables at the Formosa 4 offshore wind farm, located roughly 20 km off Miaoli County’s coast in Taiwan. With a capacity of 495 MW, the project will host 35 wind turbines, all linked by 35 cable segments that Seaway7 will deliver and install.
Seaway7 classifies the contract value as “substantial”, consistent with its internal definition ranging between US$150 million and US$300 million.
Looking ahead, offshore operations for Formosa 4 are scheduled to begin in 2028, marking a significant addition to Seaway7’s active pipeline in Taiwan.
In parallel, Seaway7 has been designated as the preferred contractor for the inter-array cable installation for SRE’s upcoming Formosa 6 project, involving the deployment of 57 cable segments. Final contract discussions for Formosa 6 are expected to reach completion by 2026.
Stuart Fitzgerald, CEO of Seaway7, emphasized the company’s growth in the region: this marks their seventh contract award in Taiwan since 2019, underscoring their expanding role in supporting Taiwanese offshore wind targets.
