Seaway 7 Chosen as Preferred Supplier for Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm Foundations

Skyborn Renewables has appointed Seaway 7 as the preferred supplier for foundation transport and installation at the Gennaker offshore wind farm, located about 15 km off the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula in the German Baltic Sea. With a planned capacity of 976.5 MW, Gennaker will be the largest offshore wind project in the region, scheduled for commissioning in 2028.

Seaway 7’s scope covers the transport and installation of 63 monopiles and transition pieces, each weighing several hundred tonnes, designed for challenging offshore conditions. This award follows contracts with EEW for monopile fabrication in Rostock, Dajin Heavy Industry for transition pieces, and a Boskalis–TKF consortium for inter-array cables.

By engaging Seaway 7, Skyborn secures experienced marine logistics expertise, ensuring timely delivery of foundation work and supporting the broader supply chain for Germany’s offshore wind expansion.
