Man overboard due to improper repair to pilot ladder

While preparing to embark a sea pilot at an exposed anchorage off a north European port, a ship's crew was rigging a pilot combination ladder. During the operation, a seaman stepped on the platform at the bottom of the accommodation ladder section, and it tipped over, throwing him overboard. The OOW immediately released the man-overboard lifebuoy and marker from the bridge wing.

Expro enters Polish gas market with first well testing contract

International oilfield services company Expro has been awarded its first well testing contract, including associated services, on a tight gas project in Poland.
Energia Zachód a 90% owned subsidiary of Aurelian Oil & Gas plc, has awarded Expro a well testing contract for operations in Poznan, Poland, on the Siekierki Tight Gas project. The contract is worth about US$1.5 million (£936,000).

Repsol inks LNG supply deal with South Korea's Kogas

Repsol has signed a liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with South Korea's state-owned Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), boosting Repsol’s position as one of the world’s largest shippers of the fuel. 
The 15-month agreement, which took effect from January, will involve the shipment of 1.9 bcm of gas equivalent to Korea, equivalent to the annual supply of 1 million homes. Repsol will ship the LNG from the Peru LNG terminal, to which the company has the sole off-take rights.

Rosneft Discoveries in East Siberia May Exceed 1 Billion Barrels

OAO Rosneft, Russia’s largest crude producer, found two deposits in east Siberia that may hold 1.17 billion barrels of oil, as the country seeks to boost fuel supplies to Asia.

Malaysia's Petronas finds new offshore energy oilfields

Malaysia's state-owned energy giant Petronas Monday said it has discovered new offshore oil and gas reserves in eastern Sarawak state.
Successful drilling of a well last March and a subsequent appraisal well brought a significant discovery for Petronas with early estimates showing there are 2.6 trillion standard cubic feet of net gas in place, it said.

Sea Lion delivers further oil off Falklands

Rockhopper Exploration has proven further oil close to last year’s Sea Lion discovery in the offshore North Falkland basin.
The 14/10-3 well was drilled by the Ocean Guardian to a TD of 2,830 m (9,285 ft) in license PL032, 8 km (4.9 mi) northwest of the discovery well. It was designed to explore the northern lobe of the Sea Lion fan feature, and is also the first well drilled in that area.

ProSep Awarded $5.5 Million Gas Treatment Contract

ProSep Inc., dedicated to providing process solutions to the oil and gas industry, announces it was awarded a $5.5 million contract to provide a gas dehydration system to a super major international oil and gas producer operating in the South China Sea. This system will be installed on an offshore field being redeveloped using enhanced oil recovery ("EOR") technology to extend its production life. Delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2012.

Gas dehydration systems allow for the removal of water vapour from gas streams, preventing hydrate formation and reducing corrosion in pipeline transmission and gas injection applications. They are compact, highly efficient, easy to operate and are environmentally-friendly, making them ideal for offshore installations.
