Topaz eyes a London listing to raise £311m

DUBAI-based oilfield services firm Topaz Energy and Marine plans to raise $500m (£311m) in a London listing.
The firm, which is part of Oman’s Renaissance Services, is likely to power into the FTSE 250 if the listing is successful, with a market capitalisation of $1.7bn.

Libyan tanker hijacked by rebels

The Libyan state-owned shipping line General National Maritime Transport Company (GNMTC) says that one of its tankers, the Anwaar Afriqya, has been hijacked by group of armed rebels and diverted to the port of Tobruk near the border with Egypt, where it is now berthed.
The company says that tanker is carrying a cargo of 23,800 tons of gasoline and has a crew of 22.

Samsung signs for two drillships

Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries announced today in a regulatory filing that it has won two drillships worth KRW 1.245trn ($1.1bn) from an American shipowner.
Samsung is unwilling to disclose the name of the shipowner according to confidentiality clause, but New York-listed Pride International, which ordered a drillship plus an optional ship at Samsung last December, seems to be the owner of the newbuildings.
