Noble Corp Inks Seven Rig Deals With Pemex

v. (NE) said Thursday that six of its shallow-water jackup drilling rigs have been leased by Mexico's state-owned oil company Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex.
If completed, those contracts, which range between 139 days and 624 days, will pay Noble at least $182.1 million. That amount could rise if the high end of day rates is paid and some contracts are started early, Noble said.

Vantage Drilling Company Announces Agreement to Provide Construction Management Services for Two Aker Drilling Ultra Deepwater Drillships

Vantage Drilling Company today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to provide services related to design, construction and commissioning on behalf of Aker Drilling ASA ("Aker Drilling") of two Ultra deepwater drillships being built at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. ("DSME") shipyard in Okpo, Korea.
The high specification drillships of DSME design will be equipped for dual activity operations in water depths down to 12,000 feet and with drilling depths of 40,000 feet. Furthermore, Aker Drilling has options to construct two additional drillships at DSME and may elect to expand the supervision agreements to include these drillships.
Paul A. Bragg, the Company's Chairman and CEO, commented, "We are delighted that Aker Drilling has chosen the Vantage team to oversee their construction projects. We are excited to be involved with such vessels following the successful completion and delivery of our drillship, Platinum Explorer, and the ongoing construction supervision of the Dragonquest drillship at DSME."

Maersk Oil appraised the 2008 Culzean high-pressure high-temperature gas-condensate discovery in the UK Central North Sea.
The 22/25a-10z appraisal well 145 km east of Aberdeen confirmed hydrocarbons in Triassic and Jurassic target reservoirs at an average depth of 14,765 ft. Maersk Oil tested two intervals at a rig-constrained rate of nearly 40 MMcfd of gas and 900 b/d of condensate per day per interval.

TGS Signs Letter of Intent for 3D Vessel

TGS announces that it has signed a Letter of Intent with CGGVeritas to charter a high capacity vessel for 3D multi-client projects in Europe during the 2011 summer season.  The charter will begin before the end of April and will last for approximately 4 months.  The agreement also provides an option for TGS to extend the charter in two 6 month increments under fixed commercial terms.
The details of the individual projects to be completed under this charter will be announced separately.

Hercules Offshore announces fourth quarter and full year 2010 results

Hercules Offshore, Inc.  today reported a loss from continuing operations of $84.6 million, or $0.74 per diluted share, on revenue of $172.3 million for the fourth quarter 2010, compared with a loss from continuing operations of $26.9 million, or $0.23 per diluted share, on revenue of $176.4 million for the fourth quarter 2009. Fourth quarter 2010 includes a non-cash impairment charge on property and equipment of $125.1 million.  On an after tax basis, this adjustment approximated $81.3 million, or $0.71 per diluted share.
