Fire inquiry finds faults



AN INQUIRY into an AHTS fire in Australia has uncovered serious deficiencies that were missed by the flag state, classification society, managers and crew.
The Marshall Islands-flagged anchor-handling tug supply vessel Petra Frontier was completed in China in 2008. It was being operated by Petra Marine Australia, servicing the rig Ocean Shield 230km northwest of Darwin, when a fire started in a steering gear compartment in September last year.
