Transfield Worley Services awarded $65 million contract with Woodside
Transfield Worley Services (TWS) – the 50/50 joint venture between Transfield Services and WorleyParsons – today signed a $65 million contract to provide Hook-Up and Commissioning (HUC) services for Woodside operated, North West Shelf Project’s North Rankin B Platform, located approximately 135 kilometres north-west of Karratha off the north coast of Western Australia. The services will be provided over a 21 month period commencing in April 2011.
The agreed scope of work includes the provision of labour and materials for the hook-up and assistance with pre-commissioning and commissioning of relevant systems for the HUC of the integrated float over deck. The work covers both the onshore planning phase and the offshore implementation phase.
WorleyParsons’ CEO, John Grill, said today “The awarding of this strategic contract will build on the work WorleyParsons, in its joint venture with KBR, has previously performed designing both the jacket and deck of North Rankin 2 Project and the brownfields work Transfield Worley are currently executing on the North Rankin A Platform. This contract will also position Transfield Worley for future HUC contracts in the region.”
In January 2010 TWS signed long term contracts with the Woodside operated, North West Shelf Project to provide brownfield project and maintenance services to offshore gas production and onshore Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and domestic gas processing facilities in Western Australia.
TWS provides technical services to other key global LNG producers including consolidated maintenance and project services to RasGas’ Qatar-based LNG facilities, and integrated services to Shell Philippines Exploration at its Malampaya gas facilities.
