Cyprus: Gas drilling could start by end of the year

EXPLORATORY drilling to determine whether there are hydrocarbon reserves in Cyprus’ territorial waters could start by the end of this year, officials said yesterday.
Trade and Industry Minister Antonis Paschalides said the plan was to drill by the end of the year or early in 2012.
