Double Happiness for Shanghai Xiang An Electric

On the 31st March 2011 Hull No CX 0405, the first 45,000 dwt bulk-carrier for Shanghai XiangAn Electric Power Shipping Co Ltd was smoothly launched at China Qidong Hongqiang Shipyard, a subcontract yard of Chengxi Shipyard.  Five minutes later, the keel laying took place of CX 0407 – this owner’s third newbuilding vessel - on the same slipway as CX0405.

Shanghai XiangAn Electric Power Shipping Co., Ltd is a subsidiary of Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd and has placed an order for four 45,000dwt bulk carriers at China Jiangsu Chengxi Shipyard, with Graig China Ltd assigned to carry out the newbuilding supervision in April 2010.
Graig’s site team has produced a great result with this project and the owner is very happy with both the on-schedule production and high quality of the vessels.
