The nation's chief offshore drilling regulator said on Friday that Transocean is not doing enough to encourage employees to testify before an oil spill inquiry and warned that the drilling contractor's future work in U.S. waters was on the line.
Michael Bromwich, the drilling chief, said Transocean had plenty of tools it could use - including possibly firing the workers - to ensure that its subpoenaed employees show up for investigative hearings in Metairie, La., next week.
